A Digital Garden - frequent growth but a bit weedy in the back corner
Created on 2026-06-13
One of the more interesting things I did yesterday (it has been a day of necessary, yet tedious and time-consuming jobs) was to gather all my personal financial info into a simple plain text file.
Then I grabbed a USB pen drive, encrypted it with VeraCrypt, chucked my digital-estate-plan.txt file on it, put it somewhere safe and secure (not telling you where it is and anyway it’s going the bank for even saferer and securerer storage tomorrow) and gave the password to my family.
That way, when I get hit by a bus, it’ll be slightly less of a pain in the arse for them and they can get on with the important task of chucking back a nice glass of whisky to celebrate my rich and varied life.
