I’ve started doing some CTFs and I thought it would make sense to do write-ups for them along the way for a couple of reasons:
- They’re a useful record for me to go back to
- They may be handy for others who are looking for a bit of help when they try to complete the CTFs
- Loosely in the spirit of see one, do one, teach one, attempting to write something up make you consider your understanding of that thing and it also tends to prompt the deeper thinking that leads to interesting questions about it
When you start looking at starting CTFs a lot of people suggest PicoCTF as a good starting point for beginners so I’ve gone with that. I’ve only done a couple so far but I’ll be adding write-ups for more as I work through them.
